| dc.description.abstract | Employee engagement is a relatively new concept that continues to be popular with organizations. While employee engagement has been proven to be affected by internal communication, little research has looked into the relationship between them. The purpose of the study is aimed at evaluating the role of internal communication in driving engagement for promoting nuclear technology at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC). The study adopts a qualitative research method, using open-ended questions to collect data from ten employees from GAEC to form the basis of the study The research combines the systems theory with the employee communication model to explore how management at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), communicates internally with its employees. The study noted that GAEC employees consider internal communication very important because it keeps them well informed about the activities of the Commission. This study also showed that GAEC employees desire to participate in the decision-making process through communication as it will give them a sense of engagement. The study suggested that the Commission’s internal communication systems be designed to bridge the gap between scientists and non-scientists since it will provide employees with the necessary and appropriate information to help promote GAEC's activities. | |
