dc.description.abstract | This study is a mixed method analysis of the Daily Graphic and Daily Guide coverage of the 2016 general elections of Ghana. The primary goal is to determine the sources and channels of political news reporting. The study utilized the gate keeping theory as the bases for the analysis of the stories. Stories on the 2016 general elections were classified on the editors and how they determine the sources and channels of political news reporting. The findings showed that most sources and channels of news are from government officials and that influence the way in which news is presented to the public. | |
